Job summary

SEVEN HILLS CONSULTING PTE. LTD. seeks a seasoned engineer to advance localization workflows and tooling.

You will blend hands-on backend development with TMS expertise, automating content extraction, translation handoffs, and CI/CD–driven localization processes. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, strong experience with Phrase/Passolo, and a deep understanding of end-to-end localization life cycles including QA and release.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with localization tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as Phrase, Passolo, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end localization workflows, including content extraction, translation, review, QA, and release.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for localization implementation and quality standards within assigned products or content areas.
• Improve the efficiency, quality, and scalability of localization production through engineering-driven solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers and internal teams on localization tooling and implementation.
• Identify localization workflow bottlenecks and drive improvements through system enhancements and automation.
• Contribute to the evolution of shared localization tools and technical standards.
• Build and enhance integrations between product systems and localization platforms, including TMS, content repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automation for content extraction, file processing, translation handoff, validation, and testing.
• Partner closely with Localization Program Management and other technical teams to support localization decisions and quality standards.

Job description

Seeking candidates with a strong expertise in localization workflows and tools to strengthen the technical foundation of localized products and content. This role will combine hands-on backend engineering with experience in Translation Management Systems (TMS), localization automation, integrations, and end-to-end localization processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with localization tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as Phrase, Passolo, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end localization workflows, including content extraction, translation, review, QA, and release.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Good exposure working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• At least 12 months significant exposure with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience designing, developing, or improving automation frameworks.
• Strong backend development and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating localization workflows into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with automated linguistic QA and validation tools.
• Experience building APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
• Exposure to AI-driven translation or localization workflow automation.
