Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize server rack installations, including server mounting.
  • Maintain and manage UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Install operating systems on newly mounted servers.
  • Reinstall server operating systems and troubleshoot system abnormalities.
  • Conduct daily server maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, ensuring timely resolution of hardware issues.
  • Manage internal system data, including asset management, ticketing, and rack-related information.
  • Collaborate with remote vendors and internal teams to address hardware failures and other technical issues.
  • Provide on-call support to resolve issues raised by business owners.
  • Monitor and verify online asset statuses and identify potential issues.
  • Perform drive erasure and reconfigure servers for decommissioning or relocation.
  • Offer feedback on tools, systems, and platforms for improvements.
  • Oversee and track part RMA processes and media destruction.
  • Manage the complete server lifecycle, from deployment to decommissioning.
Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of server functions and their interdependencies.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute basic Shell/Bash scripts.
  • Proficient in Linux systems with the capability to identify and troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts such as MAC, Subnet, and TCP/IP, with the ability to perform general troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server communication technologies, including IPMI.
  • Willing to work a fixed schedule of three weekdays along with Saturday and Sunday.
