Job summary

REERACOEN SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to oversee legal and compliance matters for Singapore and subsidiaries across Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

You will advise management on corporate compliance, commercial law, employment, IT, IP, data privacy, and AI governance, while leading complex technology and cloud-related agreements and training regional teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in Singapore, the UK, Malaysia, or another common law jurisdiction.
• 10–15 years PQE combining private practice and in‑house roles focusing on ASEAN region.
• Experience in semiconductor or global manufacturing industry preferred.
• Experience with contract management tools such as HighQ.
• Ability to lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex technology, software licensing, cloud services, AI, and data processing agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex technology and data processing agreements.

Our client is a global leader in semiconductor test systems and equipment. The company is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to oversee legal and compliance matters for its Singapore office and subsidiaries across Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on a broad range of legal matters, including corporate compliance, business development, commercial law, employment, IT, AI governance, intellectual property, and data privacy.
• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex agreements, particularly those involving technology, software licensing, cloud services, AI, and data processing.
• Design and deliver training programmes on legal matters, compliance, data privacy, and AI governance to ensure alignment with regional and corporate requirements.
• Work closely with Global Legal teams to manage cross-border commercial risks and implement strategies that support the company's business objectives across the region.

Requirements & Preferences

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, or another common law jurisdiction.
• 10-15 years of post-qualification experience, gained through a combination of private practice and in-house legal roles, with strong expertise in the ASEAN region. Experience in the semiconductor or global manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Experience with contract management tools, such as HighQ.
• Experience in corporate compliance, business development, commercial law, employment, IT, AI governance, intellectual property, and data privacy.
• Ability to lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex agreements, particularly those involving technology, software licensing, cloud services, AI, and data processing.
• Strong ability to provide commercially focused and practical legal solutions.
• Strong drafting, reviewing, advisory, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin to liaise with English- and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel at short notice for business purposes.
