Job summary

Michael Page International is recruiting for a Regional Legal Lead covering ASEAN markets. The role focuses on commercial, compliance and AI governance, providing practical legal guidance to senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions in Southeast Asia.

The successful candidate will draft, review and negotiate diverse technology and supplier agreements, advise on regulatory, data privacy and employment matters, and collaborate with global legal teams on cross-border initiatives.

Job Description

• Serve as the primary legal advisor supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN markets
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal guidance to senior stakeholders and business leaders
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, technology, software, licensing and supplier agreements
• Advise on regulatory, employment, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy and emerging technology matters
• Support legal risk management and governance initiatives across regional operations
• Develop and deliver legal, compliance and governance training programmes for internal stakeholders
• Partner with global legal teams on cross-border projects, transactions and strategic business initiatives

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Legal Counsel' should have:

• Qualified lawyer admitted in a common law jurisdiction
• Over 10 years of post-qualification experience gained across private practice and/or in-house environments
• Strong experience supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN jurisdictions
• Proven track record in commercial contract drafting, negotiation and legal advisory work
• Experience advising on technology, software, data privacy, compliance and regulatory matters
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and business growth
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams
• Experience working within multinational organisations and complex cross-border environments
