Job summary

ELECTRO SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD is seeking a LEAN – Takt/Capacity Engineer to analyze production capacity, align takt time with demand, and drive lean initiatives to optimize manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities include defining takt time, conducting capacity analysis, balancing lines, and leading waste reduction projects. Collaboration with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering is essential to meet business needs and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and takt/capacity planning.
• Experience in production line balancing and process optimization.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and monitor takt time based on customer demand and production targets.
• Conduct capacity analysis to identify gaps between demand and available resources.
• Balance production lines to achieve optimal throughput and minimize bottlenecks.
• Lead lean projects focused on waste reduction, flow improvement, and productivity gains.
• Apply tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S to enhance efficiency.
• Develop dashboards and reports for management to support decision-making.
• Provide recommendations for manpower, equipment, and layout adjustments.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to align capacity with business needs.
• Train and coach operators and supervisors on lean principles and takt-based production.
