Job summary

LionsBot is seeking a Lead Visual SLAM Engineer in Singapore to spearhead real-time SLAM systems for autonomous cleaning robots. You will deploy SLAM across a fleet, define performance KPIs, and ensure robust operation in varied environments.

You will collaborate with hardware and product teams on sensor placement, evaluate RGB-D, IMU, and LiDAR data, and mentor junior engineers while advancing the state of the art in SLAM and CV within a dynamic robotics group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Visual SLAM development in a robotics or related industry.
• Proficient with ROS/ROS2.
• Proficiency in modern C++ and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of SLAM, computer vision, and sensor fusion techniques.
• Familiar with open-source nonlinear optimization libraries (GTSAM, Ceres, g2o).
• Experience with 3D sensors (RGB-D, LiDAR) and point clouds.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time Visual SLAM systems optimized for computational constraints with high accuracy.
• Deploy SLAM systems to fleets of autonomous robots and ensure robust performance across environments.
• Establish KPIs for SLAM and benchmark against industry standards.
• Evaluate sensors (RGB-D, IMUs, LiDAR) for SLAM applications.
• Collaborate with product and hardware teams for sensor placement and integration.
• Research SLAM and CV technologies for innovations and patent potential.
• Maintain documentation and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce software engineering best practices.
