Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Typically, 5+ years of experience in sensing system design, implementation, testing, analysis and characterisation, preferably with exposure to Air Quality sensing, LiDAR, Vision Systems, optical sensing or related technologies.
• Solid understanding of sensing technologies, sensor physics, architecture, calibration needs and product integration considerations.
• Strong experience with quantitative and statistical data analysis for sensing algorithm development; Matlab coding is expected and Python experience is advantageous.
• Experience defining test methods, collecting representative data, analysing performance and translating findings into algorithm or hardware improvements.
• Experience working with suppliers or technology partners to evaluate sensing modules and define technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of sensing technology platforms for Air Quality sensing, LiDAR, Vision Systems and other sensing technologies across Dyson product categories.
• Translate requirements into sensing architectures, technical requirements and validation approaches.
• Define and validate sensing algorithms using Matlab or Python; data collection and signal processing.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Test, Manufacturing, Product and Quality teams to integrate sensing systems.
• Provide technical leadership from concept through verification, validation and production readiness.
• Engage suppliers/partners to evaluate sensing technologies and influence roadmaps.
• Prepare technical documentation and design-review materials to support decisions.
