Job summary

NTI Nanofilm in Singapore seeks a senior coating development engineer to lead FCVA ta-C/DLC, magnetron sputtering and related plasma coating processes, define POR, operating windows, and DOE plans for new applications.

You will analyze coating structure, adhesion, hardness, wear and reliability, drive root-cause analysis, mentor engineers, and transfer validated processes from R&D to pilot runs and customer acceptance, while complying with ISO/EHS standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Materials Science, Physics or related field (preferred); relevant engineering degree with substantial equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: More than 8 years in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD)/plasma coating development, with industrial qualification and cross-functional project delivery.
  • Technical: FCVA, magnetron sputtering/HiPIMS, carbon-based thin films, DOE, process windows, coating characterization (SEM/EDX, Raman, XPS, TEM/XRD), root-causeanalysis, SPC/FMEA and vacuum technology.
  • Leadership: Technical mentoring, customer engagement, structured reporting and manufacturing transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and optimization of FCVA ta-C/DLC, magnetron sputtering and related plasma coating processes.
  • Define process-of-record (POR), operating windows, DOE plans and qualification criteria for new coating applications.
  • Investigate coating structure, adhesion, hardness, wear, thickness uniformity and reliability using appropriate characterization.
  • Lead technicalroot-cause analysis and corrective actions for coating defects, process drift and customer issues.
  • Collaborate with equipment design engineers to improve plasma sources, chamber layout, process control and manufacturability.
  • Transfer validated processes from R&D trials to equipment commissioning, pilot runs and customer acceptance.
  • Coordinatecross-functional technical projects, milestones, experiments, resources and progress reporting.
  • Prepare process specifications, test reports, engineering records, risk assessments and technical documentation.
