Job summary

NCS is seeking a Lead/Senior Systems Engineer to drive software architecture for a Multi-Robot Systems portfolio. You will architect modular components, design orchestration engines, and ensure interoperability across robotic platforms, vendors, and middleware, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with robotics, AI, and product teams.

The role emphasizes system integration, real-time robotics, and scalable deployments in real-world environments with strong emphasis on documentation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, robotics or related field.
5+ years in software/system development, preferably robotics.
Strong programming in Java or Python.
Hands-on ROS/ROS2 and real-time robotic systems.
Docker, Kubernetes and containerization experience.
MQTT and DDS robotics messaging protocols.
CI/CD and production rollout experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test modular software components for multi-robot behaviors.
Build and optimize the multi-robot orchestration engine.
Design interfaces for integrating diverse robotic platforms into a unified system.
Ensure interoperability across robot types and robotics middleware frameworks.
Conduct system testing and production deployments in real environments.
Translate user needs into detailed technical requirements and docs.
Create system design specs, operation manuals, and deployment guides.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with robotics, AI, and product teams.
