Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our Electronic Systems Research Team in Singapore. The role focuses on leading electronics research, prototyping, and validating power electronic systems such as motor drives, BMS, and chargers.

You will develop demonstrations and design concepts while mentoring engineers and coordinating with external partners. You will work across thermal, EMI, and compliance domains, applying a structured, creative approach to solve complex problems

Qualifications

Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in electronics industry or research environment.
Experience in motor drives, inverters, SMPS, heater control, chargers, BMS or power transfer.
Knowledge of power electronic devices and datasheets.
Experience with SPICE-based simulation tools.
Schematic capture and PCB design proficiency.
Experience with MATLAB/Python for simulation and analysis.
Familiarity with compliance and EMC standards.
Laboratory experience including soldering, testing and validation of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

Lead an electronics research project and mentor graduates and engineers.
Research emerging technologies via papers, patents, supplier engagement and external collaboration.
Design, simulate, build and test rigs and prototype systems to assess feasibility.
Develop power electronic systems including motor drives, BMS, chargers and power supplies.
Select and evaluate power semiconductors and components to optimise cost and performance.
Develop simulation models and compare with lab results.
Perform thermal, electrical and electromagnetic analyses to ensure robust design.
Ensure compliance and EMC considerations in electronic systems.
Create technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan activities and deliver technically.
Identify risks and share lessons learnt to drive improvements.
Support the electronics lab upkeep and equipment availability.
