Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a Principal/Senior/Executive Software Engineer to design, develop and operate digital services. You will work across the software delivery lifecycle, building secure, reliable, maintainable solutions on AWS, and collaborating with product owners and operations teams to translate service needs into working software.

You will own front-end and back-end components, drive CI/CD pipelines, apply DevSecOps practices and help modernise legacy services

Qualifications

• Experience in software development and implementation.
• Hands-on frontend and preferably full-stack development.
• Strong knowledge in Java, J2EE and Spring Framework for enterprise apps and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and deployment practices.
• Experience with REST APIs, databases, source control and automated testing.
• Understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, microservices and secure SDLC.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to own services end-to-end from development to deployment, operations and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing front-end and back-end components, APIs and system integrations.
• Building and enhancing cloud-native services on AWS with managed services, microservices and event-driven patterns.
• Writing clean, testable and maintainable code; participating in code reviews and quality practices.
• Implementing automated unit, integration, security and performance testing in the delivery pipeline.
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and release processes.
• Implementing monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting for operations and incident response.
• Troubleshooting production issues; performing root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Modernising services via refactoring, re-platforming, API enablement and cloud migration.
• Preparing technical documentation, runbooks and support procedures.
• Working in an Agile and DevSecOps environment and contributing to estimation, design, delivery and deployment.
