Job summary

AMS-OSRAM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced Automation Engineering Leader to drive day-to-day technical work, define innovative automation solutions, and ensure successful project delivery. You will guide engineers, review designs, and coordinate cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong background in industrial automation, robotics, and MES integration, with hands-on oversight of PC/PLC programming, CAD, electrical systems, and smart factory implementations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
Minimum 5 years in industrial automation and robotics.
Experience in project management, PC/PLC programming, CAD/SolidWorks, electrical systems, and Smart Factory systems.
Applies deep technical knowledge through a structured, systematic approach to solve complex engineering problems.
Knowledge of C#, Python, C++, ROS 2, MES API integration.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day technical work of automation engineers and assistants: set priorities, assign tasks, review designs, provide hands-on guidance.
Design and develop automation solutions including robotic and cobot systems, AMR/AGV-based material handling, with capacity and performance analysis.
Develop automation system specifications covering mechanical, electrical, controls, HMI, and software, reviewing vendor designs for compliance.
Oversee end-to-end automation projects from concept to handover, managing schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications.
Manage vendor selection and execution: evaluate proposals, oversee design, testing, installation and commissioning, ensure compliance with specs and budgets.
Lead system reliability and lifecycle management: troubleshoot, perform root-cause analysis, implement upgrades, maintain documentation and spare parts strategy.
