Job summary

Molex Singapore is seeking an Automation Engineer (Controls) to design, develop, and support machine-level automation and control systems for manufacturing operations. You will lead automation projects, implement MES integrations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to improve machine performance, production efficiency, and data visibility.

You will join the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division's automation team and work with Process Engineering, technicians, and vendors

Qualifications

• Requires a Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation/controls.
• Hands-on PLC programming across multiple platforms; familiarity with Omron and Beckhoff.
• Experience with Kepware, Ignition, SQL DB, and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement electrical and control systems for machines and automation cells.
• Implement MES integrations at machine level using Kepware and Ignition; ensure data flows to plant systems.
• Maintain data integrity for production dashboards and data collection from machines and vision systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure standards and quality in machine designs.
• Lead buy-off processes for machines with vendors; travel as required; mentor technicians.
