Job summary

ams OSRAM Singapore is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead automation initiatives and guide a team of automation engineers and technicians in designing and delivering advanced robotic and cobot systems, AMR/AGV material handling, and vision-guided applications.

You will define system requirements, lead end-to-end projects, manage vendors, and drive reliability and lifecycle optimization across manufacturing operations in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial automation and robotics.
• Experience in project management, PC/PLC programming, CAD/SolidWorks, and electrical systems.
• Strong problem solving with a structured, disciplined engineering approach.
• Proficient in C#, Python, C++, ROS 2 and MES API integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical work of automation engineers and assistants.
• Design and develop automation solutions including robotic and cobot systems, AMR/AGV, vision-guided applications.
• Develop automation specs covering mechanical, electrical, controls, HMI and software.
• Lead end-to-end automation projects from concept to handover with cross-functional teams.
• Manage vendor selection and execution ensuring compliance with specs, schedules and budgets.
• Lead automation system reliability and lifecycle management, root-cause analysis and upgrades.
