Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Laser Production Technician in Singapore to manufacture and test lasers, laser sub-assemblies and components against documented specifications.

You will perform fiber handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, and operate laser diodes while troubleshooting fiber-based assemblies. You should have an ITE or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong technical competence in optical, mechanical

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of working experience in laser/fiber assemblies.
• Technical competence in optical, mechanical or electrical assembly.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and work with multiple variables.
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and test lasers, sub-assemblies and components per specifications.
• Handle fibers: splicing, routing, pig-tailing and operate laser diodes.
• Troubleshoot fiber-based assemblies and laser diode issues.
• Assemble fibers and optical/mechanical/electrical subsystems to spec.
• Install and align subsystems into systems using precision instruments.

We are looking for an exceptional Laser Production Technician who can…

• Manufacture and test of lasers, laser sub-assemblies and laser components against documented specifications
• Perform Fiber handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, operating laser diodes
• Troubleshoot fiber based assemblies and laser diode issues
• Perform fiber based assembly and optical alignment to specification
• Incorporate optical, mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies into systems unit with test
• Install and align optical, mechanical and optical sub-assemblies into systems using precision instruments

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity and creativity is:

• Minimum ITE or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or equivalent
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
• Technical competence in optical, mechanical or electrical assembly
• Ability to assemble mechanical, electrical and optical subsystems
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues
