Job summary

National Centre for Engineering Biology at the National University of Singapore seeks a dedicated Laboratory Technologist to support daily operations, ensure instruments and inventories are well maintained, and assist with procurement and safety tasks. The role offers growth in a multidisciplinary research environment at Kent Ridge Campus.

The successful candidate will have hands-on lab experience, a Diploma in Biotechnology or related field, and proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with analytical instruments and basic upkeep/maintenance (training will be provided).
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage inventory and support procurement tasks.
• Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Team-oriented with ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep lab equipment running through routine checks and basic upkeep.
• Support analytical instruments (including mass spectrometry) operations: monitor performance and basic troubleshooting.
• Manage chemicals, samples and lab supplies: track inventory and replenish stocks.
• Manage lab procurement: get quotes, prepare orders, and track deliveries.
• Provide research administrative and lab safety support to keep daily operations organised.
• Perform other operational duties as required.
