Job summary

Our laboratory team seeks a dedicated Laboratory Assistant / Biomedical Laboratory Technician to support testing, specimen processing and daily operations across multiple disciplines in a dynamic healthcare and life sciences environment. You will perform testing, handle specimens, maintain equipment, record results and assist with inventory and documentation.

Diploma in Biotechnology or Biomedical Science is required; strong attention to detail, good communication and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, CPT or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle numerical data and lab records accurately.
• Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently, follow established procedures and adapt to a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and support pre- and post-analytical processes.
• Receive, prepare, process and handle specimens with accuracy.
• Operate, clean and maintain laboratory equipment (centrifuges, pipetting systems, pH meters).
• Record test results and maintain documentation and laboratory information systems.
• Monitor laboratory supplies, manage inventory and ensure essential materials are stocked.
• Maintain a clean, organised laboratory environment.
• Provide administrative and research-related support to facilitate smooth laboratory operations.
• Support work across microbiology, haematology, blood banking, immunology, clinical chemistry, molecular biology and cytotechnology.

• Maintain a clean, organised and operationally ready laboratory environment.
• Provide administrative and research-related support to facilitate smooth laboratory operations.
• Support work across various laboratory disciplines, including Microbiology, Haematology, Blood Banking, Immunology, Clinical Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Cytotechnology.
