Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant for the project "Janus-Faced Neutrophils: From Inflammation to Resolution" in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments are on a 1-year contract basis with possible extension.

The RA will support scientific and operational development of the laboratory, conduct research, and ensure safety and compliance in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences or related field.
• Hands-on lab experience including cell culture and molecular biology.
• Experience with flow cytometry or imaging is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance research work with procurement and audit tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and support experiments in neutrophil biology and inflammation using cellular, molecular, imaging, flow cytometry, and animal approaches.
• Maintain accurate records, analyze data, troubleshoot protocols, and interpret results.
• Assist with literature review, figure preparation, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Coordinate safety, SOPs, risk assessments, and training records for the lab.
• Support procurement workflows: quotations, purchase requests, orders, and invoices.
• Manage inventories of reagents, samples, and consumables; ensure replenishment.
• Prepare documentation for inspections and audits; coordinate corrective actions.
• Liaise with departmental admins, support offices, animal facilities, and vendors.
• Assist with onboarding new lab members and foster collaborative environment.
• Assist with other research, safety, administrative, procurement, and operational duties.
