Job summary

The National Environment Agency seeks a Scientific Officer at Tuas South Incineration Plant to ensure the laboratory and water treatment systems operate safely and efficiently. You will consolidate data for quality control, manage records, and support regulatory compliance.

You will also assist in maintenance scheduling and procurement for plant operations. The role requires a BSc in Chemistry and 6 months to 1 year of lab or related experience, with strong analytical and communication skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry required.
• 6 months to 1 year of lab experience preferred.
• Integrity, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and analyse data for process quality control; manage laboratory records and submission of data to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, transportation, handling, and disposal of samples; calibration and regular maintenance on equipment as per SOPs.
• Conduct tests on process samples, emissions/effluents to ensure results meet established procedures.
• Develop and implement preventive equipment maintenance schedules.
• Procurement of goods and services, tracks inventory, monitors and evaluates contractor performance, and administers contracts for laboratory and water treatment plant operations.
• Assist in formulation and revision of standard operating and safety procedures; assist in plant emergencies procedures.
• Any other duties as assigned
