Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science or related field with minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Prior experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and/or animal handling would be advantage.
• Possess strong interpersonal communications skills with excellent written, oral communication and computer skills.
• Have strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• A strong team player who is able to learn new techniques and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lab operations and administration: purchasing, inventory/consumables, databases, protocols and documentation.
• Prepare reagents and supplies for the team.
• Maintain housekeeping of the laboratory and waste disposal.
• Animal work: mouse colony maintenance, breeding, plug checks, genotyping, etc.
• Conduct animal-related experiments in compliance with approvals and ethical requirements.
• Wet-lab experiments: PCR, cloning, western blotting, cell/neuronal culture, virus production, immunostaining, etc.
• Document and report experimental results and findings.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
