About the Brand

Slab Coffee is a specialty coffee brand built for the pace of the Singapore Central Business District. We are a dependable ritual — a calm reset, served well, every day. Our work is grounded in ethical sourcing, freshly roasted beans, and clean execution behind the bar. We keep the operation steady, the standards clear, and the cup consistent. As we grow, we are looking for people who want to build something dependable with us.

About the Role

At Slab, the kitchen is where the day begins. You will be part of a small team that takes food seriously, supports each other through service, and grows together as we expand.

As Kitchen Crew, you support the daily food operation of the café. You handle prep, basic cooking and assembly, plating, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness. The role is the backbone of food service — without consistent prep and clean handling, the floor cannot perform. You work in a structured kitchen environment where hygiene, speed, and recipe accuracy are non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to daily prep lists and standard recipes.
  • Assemble, plate, and finish food items to brand specification during service.
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment safely — grills, ovens, sandwich presses, prep tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work stations, fridges, freezers, and kitchen floor throughout the shift.
  • Practice strict food safety, FIFO stock rotation, and correct labelling and storage.
  • Receive deliveries, check quality, and store stock correctly.
  • Manage portion control and minimize food wastage.
  • Communicate clearly with floor and bar team during service to keep ticket times tight.
  • Support opening and closing duties, including deep cleaning schedules.
Requirements
  • Prior kitchen, café, or food prep experience preferred but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene; willing to obtain Food Hygiene certification if not already held.
  • Reliable, punctual, and physically able to handle a kitchen environment (standing, lifting, heat).
  • Clean personal hygiene and grooming standards.
  • Willingness to follow recipes, SOPs, and food safety rules.
What We Are Looking For

Someone who treats the kitchen with respect. You keep your station clean, label your stock, follow your prep list, and finish what you start. You move quickly during service but do not cut corners on hygiene or recipe. You take pride in food that goes out looking the way it should, every single time. You are honest about mistakes and willing to be corrected.

What We Offer
  • Structured kitchen training and SOP-based onboarding.
  • Progression: Kitchen Crew - Senior Kitchen Crew - Kitchen Lead.
  • Performance reviews every 6 months with documented feedback.
  • A clean, organized kitchen environment with proper equipment.
  • A team that respects the work behind the pass.
  • Opportunity to grow with the brand as new outlets open.
How We Work

Kitchen work is disciplined work. We expect punctuality, full grooming and hygiene compliance, and adherence to food safety standards. Stock is rotated, dated, and labelled. Recipes are followed. Cleaning schedules are completed on time. Respectful communication is expected at all times, especially during service pressure. We are building a kitchen culture grounded in discipline and pride.
