Job summary

GAIN EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a diligent School Support Assistant to maintain cleanliness in Food and Consumer Education rooms and assist teachers with weekly orders, materials preparation, and lesson support in Singapore.

The role requires at least 3 years of relevant food preparation and hygiene experience, good English literacy, and a mature, team-oriented attitude. The contract runs Jan to Oct 2027 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Minimally completed Primary School Education.
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in food preparation and hygiene standards
• Able to speak, read and write English, pleasant, mature disposition and has basic mathematical skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain the daily cleanliness of the Food and Consumer Education Rooms and Preparation Room
• Assist teachers in managing the tasks listed below:
• Place weekly orders for food ingredients, materials and cleaning supplies for the department
• Prepare materials for weekly food practical and theory lessons
• Supervise the safety and discipline of students
• Conduct a check to ensure the safety of the Laboratory after each lesson
• Conduct a check of the inventory items and report on items that require replacement on termly basis
• Check and account for the receipt of the ingredients and kitchen supplies
• Maintain a proper inventory record of all culinary stores and books
• Support the running of food-related school activities

Job description

Contract Period: 1 Jan 2027 to 29 Oct 2027 (10 months) with an option to extend the contract for another 10 months.

Working hours:

• Mon to Thurs: 7:30am to 2:30pm


• Fri: 7:30am to 12:30pm


• Inclusive of 1hr lunch break, where applicable


• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays and gazetted public holidays


• Ad-hoc services may be required during the school holidays, but unlikely to exceed a total of 10 hours

Scope of services:
