Job summary

You will clean, sanitize, and prepare ingredients, follow FIFO, monitor recipe adherence, and uphold strict hygiene and food presentation standards. Responsibilities

• Support the head chef and cooks to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to hygiene standards.
• Assist with preparation of meal ingredients: washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting.
• Ensure food items meet quality and sanitary standards and follow FIFO.
• Monitor production to comply with recipes and specifications.
• Follow standards of food presentation, production, and portioning controls.
• Wash and store cooking appliances, utensils, and cutting boards properly.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and guide culinary colleagues.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors; wipe kitchen walls.
• Assist with unloading and organize incoming food supplies.
• Organize and correctly store food supplies.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Support the head chef, cooks ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.
• Assisting the Cook and Head Chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
• Ensure the quality of food items according to the standards in place. It includes ensuring all food items are in a perfect sanitary condition and applying the “First in First out” best kitchen practice.
• Monitor the production of food items to ensure they comply with the prescribed recipes and specifications.
• Adhere to all the standards of food presentation, production, and portioning controls.
• Wash and appropriately store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
• Ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times and give guidance to all culinary colleagues.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen walls.
• Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
