Job summary

Kerry Consulting is assisting a large Asian conglomerate in Singapore to recruit a Junior Trader for the sugar trading desk. You will support market research, pricing, trade execution and logistics, under guidance from the Senior Trader.

The role involves coordinating contracts, payments, and monitoring daily MTM P&L, while developing new destination markets and customer accounts across Asia, including China.

Qualifications

• Degree in business or related field with 1–3 years of experience in commodities trading.
• Understanding of international trade, contract execution, and trade logistics.
• Proactive, self-motivated with strong ownership of daily responsibilities.

Large Asian conglomerate, with a focus on the sourcing, trading and distribution of products such as sugar, grains and other agricultural commodities across Asia. Due to business expansion, they are looking for a junior trader to join the Singapore team

Role

Reporting to Trading Manager. The Junior Trader will support the sugar trading desk across market research, sales development, trade execution, pricing, logistics and P&L monitoring. Assist in developing new destination markets and customer accounts, including China, under the guidance of the Senior Trader. Coordinate physical purchase and sales contract execution, manage payment schedules, place pricing orders, support sugar futures positions, and work closely with freight teams and traders to track vessel schedules, shipment status and delivery timelines. Monitor and reconcile daily MTM P&L and contract status for the trading division.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline with 1-3 years of experience in commodities trading. Candidates should have practical knowledge of international trade, including contract execution, trade logistics and basic trading terms, with a proactive, self-motivated approach and strong ownership of daily responsibilities. The candidate should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong stakeholder management skills.
