Job summary

Sasco Senior Citizens' Home West Coast & Jurong West Day Care Centre in Singapore is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead the planning and delivery of OT services for elderly clients, aiming to improve independence in daily activities.

The successful candidate will assess clients, design individualized interventions, and coordinate with care teams; they will also educate families and contribute to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Full AHPC registration in Singapore.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience, preferably geriatric or community-based.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and leadership skills.
• Passion for working with older adults and promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and functional abilities.
• Plan and deliver individualized OT interventions.
• Conduct home assessments and recommend safety adaptations.
• Prescribe or recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Document assessments and progress accurately.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care planning.
• Educate clients and families on rehabilitation goals.
• Lead quality improvement projects.
• Supervise therapy assistants.
• Contribute to student placements and internal training.
• Provide services across settings as competent.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experiencedOccupational Therapistto join our team at a Senior Day Rehabilitation Centre. The successful candidate will lead the planning and delivery of occupational therapy services to elderly clients, supporting their independence and enhancing their ability to perform daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess clients’ physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and functional abilities.
• Plan and implement individualised, goal-oriented occupational therapy interventions.
• Conduct home assessments and recommend environmental modifications to promote safety and independence.
• Fabricate, prescribe, or recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in line with professional and organisational standards.
• Participate in case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings, and care planning.
• Educate clients, caregivers, and families on rehabilitation goals, strategies, and maintenance of function.
• Contribute to community outreach and health promotion activities.
• To co-lead quality improvement project
• Supervise therapy assistants
• Participate in clinical student placement
• Participate in internal training
• To provide service to various settings (eg. Home Rehab, CR, CH, NH) as deemed competent

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
• Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
• At least 2 to 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in geriatric or community-based settings.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and leadership skills.
• Passion for working with older adults and promoting active, independent living.
