Reporting to the Head of Trading, you will develop models, run risk analyses, and collaborate with global LNG traders to optimise portfolios and enhance analytical methodologies.
We are hiring a Junior LNG Structurer to join an established energy group in Singapore. The role will support LNG trading and portfolio optimisation through optionality valuation, pricing models, proxy hedging, derivatives execution and quantitative risk analysis.
Role
Reporting to Head of Trading. The role will support LNG trading and portfolio optimisation through optionality valuation, economic pricing models, proxy hedging and risk assessment. Responsibilities include developing, implementing and validating quantitative models and optimisation tools; conducting scenario, stress and sensitivity analyses; and producing daily commercial insights to support trading decisions. The position will also execute derivatives transactions through brokers, manage structured positions within the ETRM system, and collaborate closely with global LNG traders, optimisation and risk teams. In addition, the role will enhance analytical methodologies, support the development of LNG optimisation systems, maintain relationships with market participants and assist the front-office team with ad hoc analysis and strategic projects.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in quantitative finance, applied mathematics, physics, engineering or a related discipline, with a master's degree or higher preferred. They should have at least three years of quantitative or risk management experience within the LNG, energy or financial markets, supported by strong knowledge of trading markets, options valuation and risk management. A solid understanding of trading P&L, exposure calculations and trade finance is required, together with practical SQL, Python and other programming skills for quantitative analysis.
