Job summary

Sunset Hospitality Group invites a motivated Commis Cook to join SUSHISAMBA Singapore, assisting senior chefs and handling basic food preparation, chopping, seasoning, and portioning. You’ll maintain a clean, organized workstation and support final plating.

Working under pressure in a high-volume kitchen, you’ll follow recipes, monitor quality, manage storage with labels and date dots, and uphold hygiene standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of kitchen experience
• Good command of English (oral and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines in food preparation
• Willingness to follow recipes and standard procedures

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Chefs to ensure correct quantities for bulk food preparation.
• Cleaning, peeling, cutting of all food items according to standards and ensuring efficient service.
• Follows recipes and cooking procedures precisely.
• Maintains quality and freshness of food items.
• Ensures proper storage of food using labels and day-dots.
• Maintains sanitary conditions of the working area as delegated by Head Chef.
• Handles equipment properly and keeps it clean.
• Reports repairs to supervisor.
• Follows statutory hygiene and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties pertinent to the job as assigned.
