Job summary

Avensys Consulting Pte. Ltd. is seeking a capable Business Analyst to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into functional specifications for IT projects.

You will document current and future processes, create user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborate with architects, developers and testers to ensure solutions meet business needs. 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in IT projects.
• Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills.

Responsibilities

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage business stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, pain points, and functional requirements.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and clarification workshops and translate business needs into detailed functional requirements.
• Analyse and document current and future-state processes, user journeys, process flows, use cases, and business rules.
• Identify requirement gaps, dependencies, assumptions, and ambiguities while maintaining requirements traceability.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and other functional documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and project teams to ensure functional requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions.
• Define integration and data requirements, including interfaces, field mappings, validations, APIs, and system dependencies.
• Support SIT, UAT, test case reviews, defect triage, implementation, cutover, and post-production validation.
• Act as the functional bridge between business and technology teams, managing clarifications, dependencies, issues, and stakeholder sign-offs.
• Ensure requirements and functional documentation remain accurate and up to date throughout the delivery lifecycle.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2–4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, System Analyst, or similar role in IT system implementation projects.
• Strong experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and translating business needs into functional specifications.
• Good understanding of SDLC and experience documenting requirements, process flows, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, and interface requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business users, architects, developers, testers, and project managers.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with large-scale enterprise or government system implementation projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of BPMN, UML, or other process modelling techniques.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, databases, and data mapping.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, production implementation, and defect management.
