Engineer—Technical delivery
Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering
Role Summary
The qualified Junior Engineer supports the engineering development and technical delivery of waste gas and chemical treatment, industrial exhaust treatment, and greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement systems and solutions under the guidance of senior engineers. The role provides structured exposure to client application, preparation and control of engineering documentation, technical evaluation of equipment and vendor submissions, FAT and SAT execution, EHS compliance, inspection and testing, and installation coordination, commissioning, and customer handover across semiconductor, solar, photovoltaic, battery, gas, chemical, and other high-tech industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and organise client process data, pollutant information, exhaust conditions, utility details, and site requirements.
- Support technical review, analysis data of gas and chemical streams, including application-specific composition, concentration, flow, temperature, pressure, moisture, and relevant hazards.
- Assist with choosing the best treatment-technology and solutions, basic calculations, equipment sizing, technical proposals, data sheets, P&IDs, layouts, and equipment lists.
- Prepare meeting notes, engineering registers, technical submittals, material take-offs, schedules, and progress updates.
- Coordinate routine technical information with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal engineering, procurement, quality, EHS and service teams.
- Check drawings, vendor documents, and equipment data against approved specifications under supervision.
- Support FAT, SAT, inspections, leak and pressure tests, functional checks, interlock validation, start-up and performance qualification.
- Assist with FTIR testing, gas sampling and laboratory analysis in accordance with approved protocols, calibration requirements and QA/QC practices.
- Compile test results, identify deviations, and support troubleshooting and corrective-action follow-up.
- Follow EHS requirements, permit-to-work procedures, risk controls, and hazardous gas or chemical handling requirements at all times.
- Maintain orderly project records, test reports, certificates, as-built information, O&M manuals, and handover documents.
- Support client training, system demonstrations, commissioning, and final handover.
- Participate in technical training and progressively develop competence in abatement systems, industrial exhaust, and environmental compliance.
- Travel to local or regional client and supplier sites as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental, Chemical, Process,Mechanical, Gas, Electrical or a related engineering discipline.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to two years of relevantinternship or work experience are welcome.
- Academic projects or internships involving environmentalengineering, gas or chemical systems, industrial equipment, emissions testing, controls or commissioning are advantageous.
- Willingness to work at client sites and learn practicalinstallation, testing and commissioning activities.
Technical Knowledge and Competencies
- Basic understanding of environmental engineering, air-pollutioncontrol, gas and chemical hazards, fluid flow, heat transfer or processequipment.
- Ability to read or learn to interpret P&IDs, layouts, equipment drawings, specifications and test reports.
- Basic awareness of instrumentation, gas detection, processcontrols, safety interlocks and engineering units.
- Interest in FTIR, emissions monitoring, gas sampling, laboratorymethods and data analysis.
- Good numerical, analytical, documentation and problem-solvingskills.
- Clear written and verbal communication and ability to workeffectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD orengineering calculation tools is advantageous.
Preferred Attributes
- Curious, hands-on, safety-conscious and willing to learn.
- Careful and disciplined in following procedures and documenting results.
- Responsible, adaptable, and comfortable working in office, workshop, and site environments.
- Customer-focused and able to work collaboratively in multicultural project teams.
