Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, testing, integration, and maintenance of a customised C++ middleware solution. You will work in a supervised engineering environment to build robust modules, adapt interfaces, and implement protocol handlers.

The role involves unit testing, debugging, and documenting software components. You will collaborate with system engineers, participate in code reviews, and use Git for source control and CM processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant software-development experience.
• Good foundation in C++ programming (OO design, memory management, debugging, data structures).
• Familiarity with Git and Linux-based development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ software modules under guidance of Senior Software Engineer/Tech Lead.
• Implement middleware functions, adapters, protocol handlers, and data-conversion logic.
• Develop unit tests and support integration, system, and acceptance testing.
• Prepare technical artefacts: source-code docs, test records, release notes, installation instructions.
• Participate in code reviews and use Git and CM processes for source control and releases.
• Assist with customer demos, factory acceptance tests, and site integration.
