Job summary

NEWTONE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer in Singapore to support development, testing, integration and maintenance of a customised C++ middleware solution.

The role is hands-on, supervised, and suited for candidates with up to 3 years of experience, including strong fresh graduates. You will develop C++ modules, assist with interface integrations, write clean code, create tests, and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

• Solid C++ foundation: object-oriented design, memory management, debugging.
• Degree or diploma in CS/CE/EEE or related discipline.
• Up to 3 years of software development experience; strong fresh graduates considered.
• Familiarity with Git and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ modules under senior guidance.
• Support integration of interfaces between middleware and other systems.
• Write clean, documented C++ code per standards.
• Develop unit tests and support integration, system and acceptance tests.
• Investigate defects by analyzing logs, reproducing issues and applying fixes.
• Manage source code, branches, baselines and releases using Git.
• Support build, deployment and test environments in Linux.
• Prepare technical documentation (code docs, test records, release notes).
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions on interfaces and data flows.
• Assist with customer demos, factory acceptance testing, site integration and commissioning when required.
• Maintain awareness of software quality, cybersecurity and configuration-control requirements.
