Job summary

EXASOFT CONSULTING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a senior Java backend developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture.

You will develop secure RESTful and SOAP APIs, enable asynchronous messaging with RabbitMQ and AWS SQS, implement Spring Security and OAuth, optimize Oracle SQL/PLSQL and MongoDB, and containerize with Docker while deploying to Kubernetes and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in Java backend development for enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful and SOAP APIs for distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, and Spring AMQP for messaging.
• Experience implementing Spring Security and OAuth for application security.
• Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL and MongoDB, including query optimization and data modelling.
• Practical experience implementing Redis caching and performance optimization in distributed systems.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deployment.
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git workflows.
• Experience with AWS CloudWatch, Elasticsearch, New Relic or Grafana for monitoring.
• Unit testing with JUnit 5 and Mockito.
• Strong OO programming, design patterns, clean-code principles, fault-tolerant design.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement microservices architecture, ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop secure RESTful and SOAP APIs for enterprise applications and third-party integrations.
• Implement asynchronous messaging and event-driven communication using RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, and Spring AMQP.
• Develop and maintain secure application components using Spring Security, OAuth, and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Implement distributed caching using Redis and optimize database queries, indexing, and application performance.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git-based version control workflows.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, and Elasticsearch.
• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit 5 and Mockito, ensuring code quality and reliability.

Requirements

• Experience using SonarQube for static code analysis, code quality monitoring, identifying code smells, detecting bugs, and addressing security vulnerabilities.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, along with Git-based version control.
• Experience with AWS services, particularly AWS SQS and CloudWatch.
• Experience in Elasticsearch and application monitoring tools such as New Relic or Grafana.
• Experience in unit testing using JUnit 5 and Mockito.
• Experience in object-oriented programming, design patterns, clean-code principles, and fault-tolerant system design.
