Job summary

Tech Aalto Pte Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering Team. The role centres on developing robust Java applications with Spring Boot, JMS/MQ, and SQL databases, in a wealth management context.

You will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and ensure high quality delivery within an Agile environment. You should have strong Java fundamentals, experience with TDD/CI, and familiarity with tools like IntelliJ and SonarQube.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java 8+ and unit testing with JUnit.
• Spring Boot framework expertise.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, OO design.
• Experience with TDD and CI practices.
• Maven build tool and Linux shell scripting basics.
• Experience with JMS/MQ and REST/SOAP web services.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This role is for a Software Engineer for the software Engineering Team.

kEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

Functional / Technical

• Communicate highly technical issues to non-technical audience.
• Earn good reputation of being technically strong in the organization by help solving problems others struggle
• Development and delivery with Java, EJB, Spring Boot, MySQL, Oracle and IBM MQ.
• Understand business / system requirements and translate them into technical solutions that are scalable, stable and fit for purpose.
• Tackle very complex legacy defects that mediocre developers cannot analyse/solve.
• Ensure adherence to the bank standards (including code, security and performance).
• The role provides exposures to Wealth Management systems.
• Passionate about technologies and building robust and scalable Java Systems.
• Analysis, design coding, and implementation of complex and custom-built applications.
• Work collaboratively with team to achieve goals. Experience working in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and/or Extreme programming.
• Experience in following in following best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous Integration (CI)
• Investigate and resolve production issues to help maintain a stable production environment; remain cool and effective in crisis.

• Analyse requirements, estimate efforts, plan timeline, manage progress.
• Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle
