Job summary

JointHire Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on accountant to perform daily accounting operations through monthly closing in a fast-paced Singapore office. You will handle bookkeeping using Xero, manage cash inflows and outflows, run FX payments, and review entries to improve accuracy and workflow.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of Singapore accounting experience, strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, and the ability to communicate with both English- and Japanese-speaking stakeholders

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in Singapore or similar market.
• Proficiency in Xero and MS Excel/Google Sheets.
• Native-level or business-level Japanese communication (JLPT N2 or above) with English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting operations through to monthly closing.
• Handle bookkeeping and general accounting tasks using Xero.
• Manage cash inflows/outflows and FX execution via online banking (DBS / Wise).
• Review bookkeeping entries, ensure data accuracy, and improve workflows.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a big-picture perspective.
• Undertake other ad hoc duties as assigned by the company.

Job Description

• Perform daily accounting operations through to monthly closing
• Handle bookkeeping and general accounting tasks using accounting systems (Xero)
• Manage cash inflows/outflows, payments, and cash flow, including foreign exchange execution (DBS / Wise online banking)
• Review bookkeeping entries, ensure the accuracy of financial data, and improve operational workflows
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a big-picture perspective
• Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by the company

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience. Understanding of monthly closing processes or equivalent to bookkeeping level 3 knowledge
• Knowledge of Singapore accounting is sufficient; Japanese accounting knowledge is a plus but not strictly mandatory
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and experience using accounting software
• A self-starter capable of executing tasks independently, making independent judgments, and demonstrating a strong sense of ownership
• Time management, flexible and proactive
• Having Native-level or Business-level Japanese proficiency (at least JLPT N2/equivalent or above) for direct communication with the President and handling Japanese-side accounting. Business-level English is also required

• Working location: Central, Singapore
• Nearest MRT Station: Fort Canning MRT Station (Downtown Line)
