IT Director

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced IT Director to lead the technology function of a well-established organisation undergoing continued business growth and digital transformation.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's IT strategy while ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of its technology landscape. This is a broad leadership role that combines strategic planning with operational excellence, requiring someone who can effectively partner with business leaders while leading a high-performing IT team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in enterprise IT, proven experience leading ERP implementation or transformation projects, and a solid understanding of cybersecurity governance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Lead and manage the overall IT function, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, user support and IT operations.

• Drive digital transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency and business performance.

• Lead enterprise-wide ERP implementation, enhancement or optimisation projects, ensuring successful delivery and user adoption.

• Partner closely with business leaders to understand operational requirements and translate them into technology solutions.

• Establish and maintain IT governance, policies, standards and best practices.

• Strengthen the organisation's cybersecurity posture through effective governance, risk management, security awareness and incident response planning.

• Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery and data protection strategies are regularly reviewed and tested.

• Manage relationships with technology vendors, implementation partners and external service providers.

• Develop and manage IT budgets, technology investments and project portfolios.

• Build, mentor and develop a capable IT team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend practical solutions that deliver business value.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.

• At least 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including experience managing multidisciplinary IT teams.

• Demonstrated success leading ERP implementation, migration or transformation projects in a complex business environment.

• Broad knowledge across enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, networking and end-user computing.

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, information security frameworks, risk management and regulatory compliance.

• Experience developing IT strategies, managing budgets and delivering technology projects.

• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and business leaders.

• Commercially minded, collaborative and able to balance strategic planning with operational execution.

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, TOGAF or ERP-related certifications would be an advantage.
