Job summary

JOBLINE RESOURCES PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a mid-level software engineer to translate business needs into technical requirements, and to design and enhance existing functionalities across React/TypeScript frontend and Java backend.

You will perform data mining, testing, and BAU support, optimize SQL queries, and collaborate with project leads to improve system performance, including legacy COBOL/JCL components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication to work with stakeholders including Client Project Leads and Users.
• Experience with React/TypeScript frontend and Java backend development.
• Familiarity with Mainframe applications.
• Proficient in SQL query writing and data analysis.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Analyze and design for new enhancements and/or existing functionalities.
• Data mining and testing to ensure new enhancements and/or existing functionalities meet business needs.
• Work with project leads, users, and developers to improve processes and functionality.
• Technical Support:
• Assist with React/TypeScript frontend and Java application development, troubleshooting, and BAU (Business-As-Usual) support post-implementation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot batch processing job and ensure batch cycles run without failures.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting and data analysis.
• Maintain application code in COBOL and JCL, including legacy database and file structures (VSAM, sequential files).
• Support client project leads and users with technical issues and work on improving system performance.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to React/TypeScript frontend applications, Java backends, and SQL databases post-implementation.
• Investigate and troubleshoot frontend UI/UX issues, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Help analyze operational problems and suggest improvements.
• Work closely with both technical teams and business project leads/users to ensure smooth communication.
• Contribute to system improvements and process automation.
• Collaborate with cross teams to deliver cohesive frontend solutions.

Requirement:

• Bachelor in Computer Science with 3 years relevant experiencewith React and TypeScript frontend development.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders such as Client Project Leads and Users.
• Experience with Java programming Experience with SQL databases and query writing.
• Familiarity with Mainframe application.
• Good functional business analysis skills and attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A team player who is eager to learn and grow.
• Experience with Enterprise Java-related backend frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, JPA) is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA and Excel Macros is a plus.
