Job summary

Randstad Pte. Limited seeks a Strong Inventory Business Controller to own inventory accounting across a global supply chain. You will manage the month-end close, ensure accurate valuation of materials, and drive cost control initiatives.

You will lead reconciliations, prepare variance analyses, and deliver Power BI reports for cross-functional decision-making, supporting audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance/Accounting with professional accreditation (CA/CPA/ACCA).
• Experience in inventory accounting, E&O reserve, working capital management, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive month-end close for inventory, including raw materials, WIP and finished goods valuation.
• Oversee E&O, scrap reporting, and inventory provisions with IFRS adherence.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and produce variance analyses and Power BI reports for leadership.
• Lead process improvements, cycle counts for audits, and liaise with warehouse and auditors on physical counts.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory cost and drive financial performance.

About The Company

Our client is a MNC with global presence and a leader in the sector they operate in. They are an organization operating within a highly diverse and fast-paced environment, currently seeking a Strong Inventory Business Controller to join their team. In this critical individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of their inventory accounting across a complex global supply chain, leveraging your expertise in inventory cost control and reporting to drive business performance. About The Job

In this dynamic position, you will take charge of comprehensive month-end close activities, ensuring the accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods while actively managing excess and obsolete (E&O) provisions and scrap reporting. You will spearhead inventory reconciliations between our systems, translating complex financial data into actionable variance analyses and consolidated Power BI reports to support strategic decision-making by cross-functional leaders. Beyond routine reporting, you will champion process improvements, oversee cycle counts for audit and compliance purposes, ensure adherence to IFRS standards, and act as a pivotal business partner guiding inventory optimization and cost control initiatives across the plant operations.

Skills And Experience Required

• Degree in Finance/Accounting, or related field with professional accreditation (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA).
• Relevant experience in inventory accounting, valuation methodologies, E&O reserve adequacy, working capital management, and stringent inventory cost control practices.
• Experience or strong familiarity with product costing is highly advantageous for navigating their operational workflows.
• Proficiency in utilizing the SAP S4/Hana ERP system, Blackline accounting software, and advanced analytics tools like Power BI would be highly desirable.
• Proven track record in managing internal controls, compliance frameworks, and coordinating with warehouse operations and auditors regarding physical inventory count programs.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective business partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and sound judgment to thrive in a fast-paced setting with tight month-end closing deadlines.
