Job summary

Pacific International Lines seeks an Executive for Intra Asia to drive commercial and operational performance across the assigned trade. You will work with HQ, overseas offices, and customers to achieve volume, revenue, and vessel utilisation targets, leading trade operations, forecasting, and P&L oversight.

The role requires extensive liner shipping experience, a strong track record in commercial and business development, and the ability to engage with procurement heads and owners’

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the liner shipping industry.
• Proven track record in commercial, trade management, and business development functions within the shipping industry.
• Extensive experience in managing key customer accounts, trade operations, and regional stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of the Intra-Asia trade, market dynamics, and shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Achieve approved volume and revenue budgets.
• Grow volume and revenue from key accounts on a year-on-year basis.
• Build and maintain relationships with procurement heads, GMs, and owners’ representatives.
• Conduct quarterly business trips to review performance and opportunities.
• Drive business development with HQ and overseas offices to identify markets with low penetration.
• Ensure optimum utilisation of vessel capacity and other assets.
• Promote synergies among PIL, MELL, and MSCorp for profitability.
• Oversee monthly forecasting and business projections for the trade and portfolio.
• Manage day-to-day trade operations to ensure smooth vessel scheduling and cargo handling.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service performance.
• Review monthly P&L and develop improvement measures for underperforming services.
