Grab is recruiting a Software Engineer Intern in Singapore to join the Commercial Systems team. You will contribute to projects across Backend, Full-Stack, Data, Data Science or AI Automation tracks, building and testing software, data pipelines, or automation solutions.

You will report to an Engineering Manager and work onsite at Grab's One North office, gaining hands-on experience through collaboration and code reviews using approved AI tools.

Formación

• Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Understand data structures and algorithms and apply them to problems.
• Familiar with software development practices, including Git and testing.
• Able to explain technical approaches and document work in code reviews or project docs.
• Experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop applications, services, data pipelines, or automation solutions aligned with your engineering track.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to clarify requirements and translate them into technical work.
• Participate in code or design reviews and apply feedback to improve quality, maintainability, and security.
• Document technical designs, logic, system components, or data flows related to your project.
• Investigate bugs, performance issues, or production incidents and work with engineers to resolve them.
• Use approved AI tools for activities like code exploration, testing, or documentation, and review outputs for accuracy.

Get to Know the Team

The Commercial Systems team builds and operates software and data systems that support Grab's commercial operations. The team manages Salesforce and develops applications, integrations, and workflow solutions in partnership with business, product, and engineering teams. Its work helps commercial teams manage partner interactions and day-to-day processes.

Get to Know the Role

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to engineering projects in one of five areas: Backend Engineering, Full-Stack Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or AI Automation.

Your work will depend on your assigned track and may include developing and testing software, data pipelines, or automation solutions. You will report to an Engineering Manager and work onsite at Grab's One North office in Singapore.

The internship will give you practical experience applying your technical foundations to team projects, with opportunities to learn through collaboration and code reviews.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design and develop applications, services, data pipelines, or automation solutions aligned with your assigned engineering track.
• You will work with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to clarify requirements and translate them into scoped technical work.
• You will participate in code or design reviews and apply feedback to improve the quality, maintainability, and security of your work.
• You will document technical designs, application logic, system components, or data flows relevant to your project.
• You will investigate bugs, performance issues, or production incidents and work with the relevant engineers to resolve them.
• You will use approved AI tools for activities such as code exploration, testing, documentation, or analysis, and review their outputs for accuracy and suitability.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You will be pursuing, or have recently completed, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. No prior professional experience is required (0 years); you may demonstrate your skills through coursework or projects.
• You will understand data structures and algorithms and be able to apply them to technical problems.
• You will be familiar with software development practices, including version control such as Git, and writing or running tests.
• You will be able to explain your technical approach and record relevant information in code reviews or project documentation.
• You will have experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, improve workflows, and contribute new ideas.

Good to Have

Experience in one or more areas relevant to your preferred track:

• Backend Engineering: Backend frameworks such as Go, Java/Spring, Django, or Flask; databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Data Engineering: Data modelling, SQL, ETL, data warehousing, or distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
• AI Automation: Experience using AI tools in code or design reviews.
