Job summary

Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to contribute to design and build projects. You will learn and apply internal workflows, use TEDDS and 2D calculations, and develop expertise in ETABS, Tekla, and IDEA StatiCa while collaborating across disciplines.

The role emphasizes delivering design concepts, feasibility studies, and documentation for authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders in a dynamic project

Qualifications

• Background in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Must complete core modules (reinforced concrete, structural steel & geotechnical).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Understand SCAE's internal design workflows and procedures.
• Apply relevant codes of practice and regulatory requirements in design tasks.
• Use TEDDS, PROKON, and in-house Excel tools for 2D calculations.
• Develop knowledge of 3D FEM software: ETABS, Tekla Structural Designer, IDEA StatiCa.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary consultants.
• Prepare and deliver design presentations to communicate concepts and options.
• Conduct research, feasibility studies, and prepare engineering reports for authorities/clients.
• Support construction documentation through drafting and sealing drawings.
• Participate in construction administration activities including permits and design changes.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• Gain a strong understanding of SCAE's internal design workflows and procedures.
• Apply relevant codes of practice and regulatory requirements in day-to-day design tasks.
• Utilize structural design software such as TEDDS, PROKON, and in-house Excel tools for 2D calculations.
• Develop foundational knowledge of 3D FEM software platforms including ETABS, Tekla Structural Designer, and IDEA StatiCa.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary consultants throughout project phases.
• Prepare and deliver design presentations to communicate concepts, schematics, alternative solutions, and value-engineering options.
• Conduct research, feasibility studies, and prepare engineering reports for submission to authorities, clients, or internal stakeholders.
• Support construction documentation through drafting, handling and assisting professionals to seal technical drawings and documents.
• Participate in construction administration activities, including authority submissions, permitting processes, and design change coordination.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Background in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.\
• Must complete core modules (reinforced concrete, structural steel & geotechnical)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and perform feasibility assessments.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and preparing reports or presentations.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate design documentation.
• Good time management with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Due to the sensitive nature of the project, only Singaporean candidates will be considered
