Job summary

Labcorp Singapore invites eager Life Sciences students to join as an Intern – Medical Technologist (Special Chemistry). You will gain hands-on experience in clinical testing, automation and immunological techniques under supervision in a drug development setting.

The program runs for at least 20 weeks (Jan–Jun 2027) onsite, with mentorship, workshops and presentations to demonstrate your learning journey; final-year students are preferred but all levels are encouraged to apply for a paid

• Minimum: current enrollment in relevant life sciences programs.
• Preferred: strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in laboratory procedures under supervision.
• Learn clinical testing workflows from sample collection to analysis.
• Operate and maintain analyzers and instrumentation.
• Attend modules on quality control and laboratory informatics.
• Participate in mentorship and development activities.

Internship Details

• Duration: at least 20 weeks, full-time (Onsite)
• Dates of Internship: Jan – Jun 2027
• Compensation: Paid internship
• Eligibility: Final-year students who are expected to graduate in Jul/Aug 2027 are preferred. However, students at all academic levels who are pursuing relevant fields of study are encouraged to apply.

About Team

The Special Chemistry Department provides a good overview of the various immunological techniques from automation to manual testing applied in clinical trials. You will learn about the various assays and their applications which are essential for clinical and commercial applications which have facilitated the discovery of new diagnostics and treatments to manage a wide array of diseases.

Internship Assignment Summary

• This program will provide students with valuable, hands-on experience and the student will gain clinical experience working in the laboratory of a drug development company.
• Good understanding of clinical testing from sample collection to testing and the use of different tests.
• Trained in protein electrophoresis techniques and interpretation of results in Multiple Myeloma.
• Trained in the operation and maintenance of multiple analyzers.
• Perform quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Attend laboratory modules linked to quality control management, pipetting skills and the various informatics labware.
• Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your soft skills and professional presence.
• Instruction and mentorship will be provided.
• At the end of training, the student will do presentation to fulfill his/her understanding in the training/project assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current enrollment in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related Bachelor's degree programs.
• Other degree programs can also be considered.
