Singapore Post Limited seeks an accounting intern for a full-time, 16-week program in Singapore. You will gain hands-on exposure to bookkeeping, record-to-report processes and financial statement prep under supervision.
You will work with Excel-based reporting tools, perform reconciliations, assist with year-end closing, and contribute to audit preparation while developing attention to detail and professional communication with the finance team.
Hands-on exposure to bookkeeping and the full record-to-report process
Understanding of financial statement preparation and basic SFRS(I) concepts
Familiarity with reconciliation processes (bank, intercompany) and month-end/year-end closing
Exposure to finance systems/ERP and Excel-based reporting tools
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
Time management and ability to meet reporting deadlines
Communication skills through liaising with finance team members and stakeholders
Organisational skills in maintaining documentation and audit trails
Bookkeeping: Assist with month-end / year-end closing (Record daily transactions, perform bank and intercompany reconciliations, maintain AP/AR records, and file supporting documentation), variance analysis, audit preparation, and other ad hoc finance tasks.
Year-end audit: Assist in preparing supporting schedules (fixed assets, accruals/prepayments), and draft statutory financial statements in line with SFRS(I) requirements.
Basic understanding of accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, debits/credits)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables)
Meticulous, organised, and comfortable working with numbers and large data sets
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Good written and verbal communication skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business (with Accounting specialisation), or a related discipline.
Student Status: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at a recognized Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore.
Credit-Bearing & Graduation Requirement: The internship must be a compulsory, credit-bearing component of your academic program required for graduation.
Duration & Availability: Able to commit to a full-time internship for a minimum period of 16 consecutive weeks.
