Job description

Job Title: Integration Engineer (IMT), DxD Hub

Requisition ID: 1091

Posting Start Date: 07/04/2026

DxD Hub

DxD Hub is Singapore's national platform for diagnostics development. With a mission to revolutionise diagnostics and improve healthcare outcomes, DxD Hub drives the transformation of innovations into clinically validated diagnostic devices ready for market adoption — leveraging an end-to-end, ISO 13485-compliant productisation engine across In Vitro Diagnostics, Point-Of-Care Connected Devices, Digital Diagnostics, and Digital Therapeutics. Our strengths are in cross-disciplinary product development particularly in molecular, protein assay, immunoassays, and digital diagnostic technologies.

Job Description

We are seeking a System Integration Engineer to join our engineering team. The candidate will serve as the technical expert connecting subsystem design, assay science, and clinical application into coherent, integrated prototype and MVP devices. You will work across a broad range of IVD POCT modalities including optical, fluorescence, electrochemical, LFA, PCR, MEMS, and semiconductor-based platforms.

Beyond technical integration, you will co‑own project execution together with the Project Manager, taking responsibility for technical planning, milestone tracking, and cross‑team coordination — ensuring that engineering progress aligns with project timelines and deliverables. The ideal candidate brings both hands‑on engineering rigour and the organisational sensibility to keep complex, multi‑disciplinary projects on track.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system‑level architecture that integrates mechanical, optical, electrical, firmware, and assay components into a functional and testable device.
  • Define and manage subsystem interfaces, integration strategies, and system‑level verification activities across hardware, software, and chemistry domains.
  • Co‑manage project execution with the Project Manager: own the technical workplan, track engineering milestones, flag risks early, and coordinate task allocation across engineering disciplines.
  • Translate design inputs from scientific and clinical requirements into engineering specifications, interface control documents, and integration test protocols.
  • Lead or support design reviews, integration builds, and troubleshooting sessions, and be hands‑on during critical build and verification phases.
  • Author or oversee technical documentation including system specifications, integration protocols, test reports, and design history files in compliance with ISO 13485.
  • Coordinate across mechanical, optical, electrical, assay, and science teams to resolve integration conflicts and maintain design coherence throughout the development cycle.
  • Support IP documentation by identifying novel system‑level design concepts and contributing to invention disclosures where applicable.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive landscape, target product profiles, and clinical workflows sufficient to evaluate design trade‑offs at the system level.
Key Requirement
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with demonstrable cross‑disciplinary experience.
  • 5–10 years in cross‑functional product development, with at least one completed full development cycle from proof‑of‑concept to functional prototype or MVP.
  • Hands‑on experience integrating multi‑domain subsystems; familiarity with at least two of the following modalities is strongly preferred: optical detection, electrochemical sensing, microfluidics, LFA, PCR, or MEMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold both technical and coordination responsibilities concurrently in a project setting.
  • Strong ability to decompose complex systems into subsystem interfaces, generate system diagrams, and communicate integration logic clearly to both engineering and non‑engineering stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in a research‑adjacent environment where requirements evolve and technical paths are not always predefined.
  • Proficiency in at least one data analysis or instrumentation tool (Claude Code, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 design control principles and documentation practices.
  • Experience with CAD or system modelling tools is advantageous; exposure to simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a proactive, curiosity‑driven approach to problem‑solving.

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
