Job summary

Constructor Technology Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to transform subject matter into structured, engaging learning experiences.

The role focuses on AI-enabled education, research, scripting, and content development across corporate, product, technical, and professional learning. You will collaborate with subject-matter experts and product teams to design curricula, storyboards, assessments, and interactive experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Learning Sciences, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in instructional design or corporate learning.
• Solid knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
• Ability to design structured, active, and interactive digital learning experiences.
• Experience converting complex material into clear learning content.
• Practical understanding of generative AI in education and its workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audience and training needs analyses, identify performance gaps, and define measurable learning objectives.
• Design curricula and learning solutions across e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, and VILT.
• Create course structures, storyboards, instructional content, assessments, and scripts for multimedia experiences.
• Transform complex technical subject matter into clear, accurate learning content.
• Design active and practice-based learning experiences including scenarios and simulations.
• Collaborate with SMEs, product teams, engineers, and stakeholders, advising instructional approaches.
• Use AI-supported tools for research, content development, scripting, prototyping, assessment design, and personalized learning.
• Review and improve AI-generated content for accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback and data; suggest improvements.
• Act as a content author/SME for AI in education.

Role Purpose

The Instructional Designer transforms subject-matter expertise and source materials into structured, engaging, and measurable learning experiences across corporate, product, technical, and professional education. The role requires strong instructional design expertise combined with practical knowledge of generative AI. The candidate should be able not only to use AI tools, but also to understand, evaluate, and clearly explain AI concepts and applications as a subject-matter expert.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct audience and training needs analyses, identify performance gaps, and define measurable learning objectives.
• Design curricula and learning solutions across e-learning,blended learning, microlearning, and virtual instructor-ledtraining.
• Create course structures, storyboards, instructionalcontent, assessments, and scripts for video, audio,animation, and interactive experiences.
• Transform complex technical and professional subject matter into clear, accurate, and engaging learning content.
• Design active and practice-based learning experiences, including scenarios, simulations, branching activities, andinteractive assessments.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts, product teams,engineers, and stakeholders, recommending suitableinstructional approaches and explaining design decisions.
• Use AI-supported tools and workflows for research,content development, scripting, prototyping, assessmentdesign, and personalised learning.
• Review and improve AI-generated content, ensuringfactual accuracy, instructional quality, clarity, andalignment with learning objectives.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness using learner feedback andperformance data and recommend improvements toexisting courses.
• Act as a content author/SME for courses on AI ineducation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design,Educational Technology, Education, Learning Sciences, ora related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in instructional design,corporate learning, digital education, or educationalcontent development.
• Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies,adult learning principles, learning objective development,and assessment design.
• Proven ability to create structured, active, and interactivelearning experiences across multiple digital formats.
• Experience working with subject-matter experts andconverting complex or incomplete source materials intoeffective learning content.
• Practical understanding of generative AI and itsapplications in education, learning design, or contentdevelopment.
• Ability to explain AI-related concepts, workflows,capabilities, and limitations clearly to learners andstakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with e-learning authoring tools andlearning management systems, supported by a relevantportfolio.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills inEnglish.

Nice to Have (Not Obligatory):

• Experience developing technical, product, software, data,or AI-related learning content.
• Experience acting as an author, trainer, consultant, orsubject-matter expert on AI-related topics.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted authoring workflows, promptdesign, adaptive learning, or AI-supported assessment.
• Additional background in STEM, IT, data science, oranother technical field.
