Job summary

MINDS is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Lee Kong Chian Gardens School to deliver student-centred, evidence-based instruction for diverse learners. You will build strong relationships with students and their families while maintaining a safe, structured classroom environment.

The role includes planning, assessment, and IEP/ITP processes, supporting school activities, and collaborating with social workers, therapists and other colleagues to foster holistic development for youth aged 7–18.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in teaching special needs students will be an advantage.
• Passionate about each child’s personal growth and open to innovative teaching methods.
• Able to work with children/youth aged 7–18 with one or more learning difficulties.
• Able to work in a team with social workers, therapists and other teaching colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging, well-paced lessons considering diverse learner profiles.
• Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities.
• Implement assessment methods to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Formulate data-based IEP and ITP processes to support goals with families and professionals.
• Design routines to create a safe, conducive learning environment and wellbeing.
• Assist in school activities, committees and daily administrative tasks.

Education

GCE 'A' Levels, Diploma or Degree in any discipline

Diploma in Autism, Education or Special Education
