Job summary

HSBC Life (Singapore) Pte Limited is seeking an Infrastructure Lead to own design and delivery of insurtech infrastructure across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring resilience and security by design.

You will translate business requirements into practical infrastructure designs, produce artefacts, set standards, and drive end‑to‑end delivery while coordinating with architecture, security, and operations teams. A strong background in regulated environments is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Relevant IT certifications (ITIL, cloud, security fundamentals, TOGAF).
• Experience leading infrastructure design and delivery for regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure solution design for insurance tech across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid.
• Produce and maintain high‑quality design artefacts (HLDs/LLDs, BOMs, runbooks).
• Translate requirements into secure infrastructure designs (availability, performance, recoverability).
• Define and govern infrastructure standards (compute, storage, networking, identity, observability, DR).
• Lead end‑to‑end infrastructure delivery (planning, build, release, change control, L0/L1 support).
• Own infrastructure risks, issues and dependencies; lead incident response and root‑cause remediation.
• Embed operational resilience and security by design (HA, capacity, monitoring, encryption).
• Engage stakeholders across architecture, security, service management, operations, product and engineering.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Infrastructure Lead.

In This Role You Will

• Own infrastructure solution design for insurance technology services across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Produce and maintain high‑quality design artefacts, including HLDs, LLDs, architecture patterns, bills of materials, runbooks and support models.
• Translate business and non‑functional requirements—such as availability, performance, recoverability and compliance—into practical, secure infrastructure designs.
• Define and govern infrastructure standards covering compute, storage, networking, middleware, identity, observability, backup and disaster recovery.
• Lead end‑to‑end infrastructure delivery, including planning, build, testing, release, change control, early life support and dependency management.
• Own infrastructure risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, while providing leadership during incidents and driving root‑cause remediation.
• Embed operational resilience and security by design through high availability, capacity planning, monitoring, backup, DR testing, access controls, encryption, hardening and vulnerability management.
• Engage stakeholders across architecture, cyber security, service management, operations, product and engineering; support governance, audits, commercial planning and team capability development.

To Be Successful You Will Need

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; Relevant certifications such as: ITIL, cloud certifications, security fundamentals, TOGAF (or similar), Kubernetes/DevOps/IaC certifications.
• Proven experience leading infrastructure solution design and delivery for business‑critical platforms (insurance or similarly regulated environments preferred).
• Strong hands‑on understanding across core infrastructure domains
• Strong delivery leadership: planning, execution, dependency management, and production change delivery.
• Experience working in regulated environments with strong governance, risk, and control expectations. Ability to create clear design documentation and drive decisions through architecture/design forums.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across geographically distributed teams
