Job summary

Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd is seeking an IT operations professional to maintain and support cyber, system and network equipment such as routers, switches, servers, and load balancers. You will troubleshoot issues, monitor device status and bandwidth, and escalate problems to stakeholders or vendors as needed.

The role involves planning periodic maintenance, managing changes per SLA, and ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operations/customer service environment in IT.
• Good knowledge in System, Network and CyberSecurity.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skill.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization and systems preferred.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls and other network equipment is essential.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Netgain, SolarWinds).
• 1–5 years of IT security experience.
• Soft skills: Problem Solving, Communication and Teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support cyber, system and network equipment including routers, load balancers, switches, servers (OS), etc.
• Analyse problems, perform troubleshooting, and track problems through resolution.
• Monitor activities, such as device status and bandwidth usage.
• Escalate problems to stakeholders/vendors when necessary.
• Schedule and perform periodic maintenance for IT infrastructure at the data centre.
• Plan and manage change/service requests or maintenance per SLA, including firmware patches.
• Ensure zero SLA breaches and compliance with policy and procedure.
• Manage call tickets assigned by service desk per SLA.
• Coordinate with subcontractors involved in installations.
• Collaborate with other teams for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide reports and status for monthly SLA reports and other operational requirements.

• When necessary, escape problems to the appropriate stakeholders / principals / vendors
• Schedule and run periodic maintenance for IT infrastructure at the data centre
• Plan and manage change and or service request or maintenance activities as assigned by team lead according to the SLA, including firmware patches
• Ensure zero service level breaches and achieve 100% compliance with policy and procedure
• Manage Call ticket assigned by service desk according to the SLA
• Managing subcontractors involved with any installation
• Work with other team for maintenance and troubleshooting
• Provide reports and status for monthly SLA reports and other operations requirements

Job Requirements

• Candidate must have experience in an operations/customer service environment experience in the IT industry is an advantage
• Good knowledge in System, Network and CyberSecurity
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skill
• Basic knowledge of virtualisation and system is preferred
• Possess a deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls and other network equipment is essential
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Netgain, SolarWinds, etc.).Relevant work experience (1 to 5 years) in IT security
• Soft skills – Problem Solving, Communication and Teamwork Skills
• Certification in Information Technology Security field has an advantage
