Job summary

Synapxe, Singapore's HealthTech agency, is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the security of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including firewall and network security.

You will work with cross-functional teams, leverage Fortinet, Algosec, and ITSM integrations, and provide regular updates to stakeholders while coaching junior engineers. This is a 2-year direct contract role with standby rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
• At least 5 years in Enterprise Firewall and 1 year in Network Security technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet.
• Experience with Firewall Policy Management tools like Algosec.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Network Security tools and protect the organization's network infrastructure.
• Integrate Firewall Policy Management with Automation and ITSM Tools.
• Standardize firewall processes and improve operational hygiene.

Position Overview

The Infrastructure Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security of an organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves protecting systems, networks, and data from potential threats, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall security posture.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Network Security tools, practices and processes, coordinate security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure.
• Work with a team of engineers to develop integrations between Firewall Policy Management, Automation and ITSM Tools.
• Develop and maintain processes and practices that drives towards incorporating best practices, improving operations hygiene and Standardization of Firewall Processes.
• Collaborate with Automation Team to develop new capabilities, improve integration between systems, improve efficiency and user experience.
• Provide regular reports and updates to Stakeholders.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor in Computer Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 year of experience in Enterprise Firewall and minimum 1 year of experience in Network Security-related technologies.
• Strong hands on experience with Fortinet is required
• Technical and hands-on engineer who have built, developed, or managed enterprise-level and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Have good knowledge developing Network Security Processes and working with Firewall Policy Management Tools (such as Algosec) and integrating it with Automation and ITSM Tools.
• Preferably some knowledge in working with programming and scripting languages.
• Knowledge in System & Network-related technologies.
• Have some working knowledge in infrastructure automation will be an advantage
• Possess a keen and curious mindset in discovering new and emerging technologies.
