The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining security standards, and documenting activities while collaborating with internal teams and customers during migrations and maintenance windows.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with 1–3 years in IT/networking.
• Proficient in routing, switching, firewall administration and security concepts.
• Experience with VPN technologies and basic Linux/CLI proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and implement firewall solutions in customer or enterprise environments.
• Configure security policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels, and ACLs.
• Support firewall migration and cutover activities during implementation windows.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, VPN, and firewall-related issues.
• Perform firmware upgrades, backup, and restore activities.
• Validate firewall functionality and traffic flow after implementation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers during implementation activities.
• Prepare implementation documentation, network diagrams, and handover reports.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies.
• Participate in maintenance windows and change management processes.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Implementation Firewall Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, and implementation of network security solutions in enterprise environments. The candidate will be responsible for firewall implementation, VPN setup, troubleshooting, migration activities, and security policy management while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to security standards.

Key Responsibilities?

• Deploy, configure, and implement firewall solutions in customer or enterprise environments
• Configure security policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels, and access control lists (ACLs)
• Support firewall migration and cutover activities during implementation windows
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, VPN, and firewall-related issues
• Perform firmware upgrades, backup, and restore activities
• Validate firewall functionality and traffic flow after implementation
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers during implementation activities

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Education & Experience: Degree or equivalent with 1–3 years in IT/networking
• Core Networking Skills: Routing & Switching fundamentals, Firewall Administration (security policy creation, rule optimisation, access control, zone based security, object and service management, high availability, etc), Security Concepts (IDS/IPS, URL filtering, App control, Threat Prevention, SSL inspection, Zero Trust, etc), Troubleshooting skills (Packet capture, log analysis, traffic flow, session monitoring, CLI debugging, etc)
• Specialization: Good in 1–2 brands of firewall knowledge, Enterprise Network, or Security

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, Routing, Switching)
• Knowledge of firewall technologies and security concepts
• Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec/SSL VPN)
• Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP is an advantage
• Basic troubleshooting and log analysis skills
• Familiarity with Linux/CLI environments

Soft Skills:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to work during maintenance or implementation windows
• Good documentation and reporting skills
