Job summary

SIMBA Telecom Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to manage a Linux-based virtualization stack and cloud infrastructure. You will administer hosts, configure resource pools, and support tenants in the virtual environment.

The role requires hands-on VMware ESXi and KVM experience, strong networking, and Linux system maintenance including LVM and patching. You will also implement automation with Puppet and Git and help with backup strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of IT systems engineering experience with Linux.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi and KVM virtualization.
• Strong networking: switching, routing, firewalls, and network virtualization (DVS/VLANs).
• Degree, diploma or certificate in IT; LPIC or CompTIA valued.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Engineer at SIMBA working with virtualization stack, your core responsibilities involve:

• Virtualization & Cloud Management: Administering and optimizing cloud-based Linux infrastructure utilizing platforms.
• Tenant & Compute Operations: Registering hosts, configuring resource pools, handling virtual machine lifecycle operations, and supporting tenants within the virtual environment.
• Storage & Network Integration: Collaborating with standard infrastructure components.
• Linux Systems Engineering: Maintaining RedHat, Rocky Linux, and CentOS environments, managing LVM, system patching, and resource troubleshooting.
• Automation & Backup: Performing configuration management using Puppet and GIT and backup tools.

Key Technical Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in IT systems engineering with a heavy focus on Linux environments.
• Virtualization Stack: Direct hands-on experience with hypervisors like VMware ESXi and KVM.
• Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of switching, routing, firewalls, and network virtualization (DVS/VLANs).
• Education: Degree, Diploma, or ITE certificate in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Certifications like LPIC or CompTIA are highly valued.
